Happy Friday, Panthers and Panther Parents!
We had a great week this week celebrating college week and learning what college is all about! We also rocked it out learning about electricity and diving into what makes non-fiction text "hard"! The kiddos did a great job persevering with some difficult topics in math and focused on adding "yet" to their vocabulary ("I'm not good at this...yet!")! Upcoming Dates 9/27-10/12 - Parent Teacher Conferences 10/1 - Science Unit 1 Test (Electricity & Magnetism - Study Guide) 10/1 - Advanced Math Unit 6 Test (Measurement & Volume - Study Guide Coming Monday!) Curriculum Updates
Computers Please make sure your child is charging their computer nightly. We are seeing many students arrive at school with batteries at 20% or less which inhibits the student from using them throughout the day as we do not have charging carts or chargers at school. Reflections The 2021-2022 Reflections Theme is: I Will Change The World By... The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Georgia PTA cultural arts competition. Since 1969, over 10 million students across the nation have taken part in this popular PTA program. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. We invite everyone to tell your story through dance, a short film, a poem or story, an original song, a photo or visual work of art. The Reflections program is for ALL students! You do not need to be proficient in the arts to participate! Entries must be submitted using this form here [docs.google.com]. The deadline to submit is October 22nd to the BIN located near FRONT DESK at New Prospect or electronically at email: [email protected]. Study Guides Study guides for upcoming assessments are given out one week before the assessment (the Friday before or the Monday of the week) and cover all material that students could possibly see on the test. Questions concerning the study guide should be directed to your child's teacher. Conference Night Information was sent home by your child's teacher on Tuesday (9/21) in regards to signing up for conferences. If you have any questions or concerns please contact their homeroom teacher directly. Pop-Its Students are permitted to bring Pop-Its to class as long as they are not distracting to others. Please make sure that student names are written in permanent marker clearly on the Pop-Its so that they can be returned to their owners in the event that they are lost or left behind. Classroom Photos If you would prefer your child's photo not appear in our photo gallery or on teacher-run twitter pages, please let your child's homeroom teacher know so their face can be replaced with a smiley! Headphones Please continue to send your child to school with headphones. They are necessary to complete iReady practice and other subject area activities within the classroom. If you are unable to send headphones for your child for any reason, please reach out to their homeroom teacher. Birthday Celebrations! Happy Birthday to the following students:
