My name is Pahk Thepchatri, most students simply just call me “DrT.” I have been teaching Elementary through high school in the Atlanta area since 2012. In 2006 I received my PhD in chemistry and worked at Emory University for 6 years as a research scientist. My first year of teaching was in middle school as a science teacher in DeKalb county where I focused on project-based learning and encouraging students to present research findings to their peers. I then joined special education, still continuing to encourage students to defend their ideas and interact with their peers while in the context of their respective IEPs. I continue to be interested in virtual learning and STEAM-based teaching practices to better engage students in the curriculum.
